Please join us June 20-24th for the first ever Carroll Summer Brass hosted by the Carroll County String Project and Wesley Freedom United Methodist Church! CCSP Brass Faculty member, David Anderson will be joined by other local performers and teachers to present a week of brass solo and ensemble recitals, masterclasses and clinics.

Participants will play as a group in rehearsals throughout the week working towards a performance on Friday, June 24th. Throughout the week, they will meet fellow brass players from across Carroll County area while attending group lessons and recitals with faculty and guest artists.

  • June 20-24th 2pm-5pm @ Wesley Freedom United Methodist Church
  • Monday, June 20th: Checkin begins at 2pm, Rehearsals begin at 3pm
  • Tuesday-Thursday, June 21-23rd: Guest artist & masterclass schedule pending
  • Friday, June 24th: 4pm soundcheck in Sanctuary, 5pm brass performance!
  • Private Lessons will be scheduled from 5pm-7pm daily

Carroll Summer Brass tuition for 2016 is $150. This includes a 1 hour private lesson, masterclasses with faculty and guest artists, faculty recital admission and participation in a student brass ensemble performance on Friday, June 24th. Tuition is due by check-in time on June 20th.

A masterclass is like a private lesson but in a performance setting. Participants have music prepared well enough to perform it in front of a small group of their peers and coaching is focused on how the performer interacts with his or her audience. Masterclasses are meant to help students become better performers and provide instant, constructive feedback from both the audience and teacher.

Masterclass participation is highly encouraged, however space is limited to ensure adequate time for each participant. Please indicate whether or not you would like to participate when you register and what you will be playing.
